CheckPoint® III Labels
CheckPoint® III labels are provided in paired rolls of
5,000 labels. These label rolls are provided on standard
3 inch (7.62 cm) cores (without cardboard hubs)
that are set up specifically for automated or
semi-automated dispensing.
CheckPoint® III labels have a basic kinetic profile that
is appropriate for food protection and judging of food
freshness for almost every type of food or drug
application (a mid range Ea value). Different durations
are available to match the shelf life characteristics.
Our most popular types range from 2-3 days up to 45 days
at normal refrigerated temperatures. We can supply
technical details on request for virtually any food or
pharmaceutical application. Just supply us with the
time-temperature tolerance of your product, and we can
provide in-depth technical information on our label
performance that matches the product characteristics.
Our
standard formulation for seafood HACCP applications is
the CheckPoint® III Type EH label. Please inquire on our
sales line for details. If you require technical
information on label performance, please contact us.
This diagram shows both the
Activator Label and the CheckPoint® III label itself.

Both
labels can be handled like any normal adhesive label, and are supplied in
rolls of 5,000 labels on standard 3" cores with a transparent plastic
backing liner. There are no hubs supplied with the label rolls.
The
time-temperature function becomes active only when the Activator label is
positioned over the target zone as shown. We can configure CheckPoint
III with a different size and with different consumer advisory messages for
customers who qualify with volume purchases.
Lead time
for custom formulation of label response is 3-4 months. Lead time for
different sizes and label appearance modifications is generally one month or
less.
Shipping
is not included in the label pricing. There are no temperature or
other requirements for special shipping.
Please
call us for technical details of available types and time-temperature
characteristics.
CheckPoint® I Labels
Generally,
CheckPoint® I labels are provided as single labels, but
for certain applications, triple labels are used for
applications in shipping and shelf life management. All
CheckPoint® III labels are single labels.
Specific
types of labels are based on their time-temperature
performance. For example, a CheckPoint®
I M2-10 label shows an "M-type" curve, and is based on a
baseline of 10 days when exposed to 2°C (35.6°F). Like
all time-temperature relationships, the time will
decrease with an increase in temperature. Exactly how
this works out is a function of the type of curve. M is
a standard curve for certain food types.
CheckPoint®
I labels are provided in rolls of 1,000 labels. These
label rolls are provided on standard 3 inch (7.62 cm)
cores (with cardboard hubs) that are set up
specifically for automated or semi-automated
dispensing.
CheckPoint® I
Technical Details
CheckPoint® I labels are available in four different
curve configurations: C, B, M and L. C curves are
typical for preserved meat products, ground beef
and certain dairy products. B curves are suitable for
frozen food applications and some demanding short term
shipping applications. M curves cover a wide range of
seafood shelf life applications and almost any type of
prepared food. L curves are specifically applicable to
food safety applications, consumer case ready items and
deli-meats management.
CheckPoint® I labels are
manufactured to order at our Malmö, Sweden location. They must be
transported by expedited service, and are packed with solid refrigerant
in an insulated container. All shipping costs are included
in the purchase price of the labels. They are supplied on standard
3" cores with cardboard hubs.
Lead time for a custom
formulation is at least three times the standard time run for a desired
label type. For example, if you are seeking a label with a time
run of 14 days at 4°C, then the lead time for obtaining test samples
would be 3 x 14 = 42 days. We will only custom formulate for
orders of sufficient size to justify the work of formulation. Many
standard types are available.
